Care
Daily cleaning with a soft cloth and neutral soap; never acids. Attend to wine and citrus promptly, use trivets with direct heat. Re-seal once a year.
Description
Ovale is the atelier’s big table: two metres of travertine in one continuous hand-carved oval, on twin supports that free the corners for chairs. The oval is a dining room’s most generous geometry (the capacity of a rectangle, the closeness of a round, with no hard corners to interrupt), and in natural stone it gains an authority no timber can match. It seats eight to ten, and the honed, filled top is sealed to survive all of them. Each Ovale is handmade to order in 60–90 days, with photographic block approval before cutting. Home delivery across Europe, crated in timber and in parts (base and top separately). The table for dinners that run long: our speciality.
Before you order
Can a travertine dining table take hot dishes and daily use?
Yes, but always protect it with trivets: direct heat can mark the sealer. Seal the travertine twice a year and wipe spills promptly. The Ovale's honed, filled finish withstands everyday use with simple care.
How to clean and seal travertineHow much space do I need for the 200×100 cm Ovale seating 8–10?
The Ovale seats 8 to 10 and asks for a dining room of at least 320×220 cm to circulate freely. It is our heaviest piece, around 260 kg: it arrives well crated at your home. We do not offer an installation service, so to move it into place we recommend several people and clear access.
Can I order the Ovale in another size or in marble?
Yes, we carve the Ovale to size in your chosen length, width and stone, including marble. Each table comes from a single block, with a 60 to 90 day lead time. Tell us your space and we adjust proportion and weight.
